Correction: We blamed the wrong guy for blocking a road safety bill

We blamed the wrong Assemblyman last week for blocking what we called a “common-sense road-safety measure.”

It isn’t Codes Committee Chairman Joe Lentol (D-B’klyn) who’s bottled up a bill to mandate a 60-day license suspension after two speeding violations in school zones within 18 months — a standard that might have kept deadly Park Slope driver Dorothy Bruns off the road.

Rather, the bill, which has passed the Senate twice, is held up in the Assembly Transportation Committee under David Gantt (D-Rochester). We apologize for the error.
