A Texas teacher is accused of taking a high school student’s virginity and giving her an sexually transmitted disease.
Justin Washington, 26, was arrested Wednesday for allegedly having “a fling” with a Cy Creek High School student and supplying her with drugs, news station KHOU reported.
Washington was employed as a middle school teacher in the district when he became sexually involved in September 2017 with the 18-year-old student, authorities said.
The pair reportedly had sex on at least four different occasions at motels and his apartment.
The Hamilton Middle School teacher told police that he wasn’t initially aware that the teen girl was enrolled in the district.
Police were notified after the student reportedly told another teacher that Washington had sexually assaulted her.
The teen told investigators that she knew he gave her an STD since she was virgin when they met.
“I wanted to be loved and I don’t know why, but I wanted it from him,” the victim said, according to KHOU. “He acted like he wanted to be there for me.”
Washington confessed to the sexual encounters and said he knew that educators were legally prohibited from having relationships with students, the Houston Chronicle reported.
He faces felony charges for having an improper relationship with a student.
Cypress-Fairbanks Independent School District officials said Washington resigned after the sexual assault allegation.
“We were extremely concerned by allegations of an inappropriate relationship between a middle school staff member and a high school student,” a spokesperson told the Houston Chronicle. “The staff member was immediately removed from the campus and has since resigned. Cooperating fully with law enforcement, a thorough investigation led to an off-campus arrest.”
