President Trump will reportedly receive his desired military parade including a “heavy air component” and marching bands — but no tanks out of concern for damaging the streets of Washington D.C.
Trump had requested a parade “like the one in France” last month and a Pentagon planning memo with details of the Veterans Day event were revealed on Friday, according to CNN.
Although the parade will likely include military flyovers, there will be no tanks “to minimize damage to local infrastructure,” the network said.
The parade will also feature the Old Guard Fife and Drum Corps, a band which celebrates the Revolutionary War.
The route will run from the White House to the Capitol, CNN reported, with Trump flanked by the veterans and Medal of Honor recipients while he watches the event.
Trump was hoping the parade would rival the Bastille Day Military Parade, which has been held every year in Paris since 1880.
